What happens at the free assessment?
Think of it as a friendly math chat, not a test — no grades, no red pens, no pressure. In about 30 minutes we’ll work through a few problems together, find out what your child enjoys and what trips them up, then sit down with you to share what we found and suggest a plan that fits. It’s completely free, and there’s no obligation to sign up.
Who are the tutors?
Math nerds with people skills, and real credentials to back it up. Our founder, Mohammed, leads the teaching and builds every student’s learning plan himself. He’s backed by a team of certified high school teachers and university and PhD students, who bring real classroom experience and deep subject knowledge to every course. Everyone on the team is chosen for two things: knowing the material cold, and explaining it so it finally makes sense.
My child says they “hate math.” Is it hopeless?
Not even a little. Most kids who hate math actually just hate feeling lost. Fill in the gaps, and the hate has a funny way of packing its bags.
My child is already doing well. Can you help?
Absolutely — good is great, but A+ is the name on the door. We offer enrichment and get-ahead work for students aiming for honours, Math 31 or university math.
How soon will we see results?
Every student moves at their own speed, so we won’t promise miracles by Tuesday. What we do promise: a progress report after every 4 sessions, so you’ll never have to guess.
Do you give homework?
Just enough to keep the brain warm — never enough to ruin dinner.
Where do sessions happen?
At our cozy study space in Castle Downs, Edmonton, or live online with a shared digital whiteboard. Pajama bottoms on video calls are between you and your webcam. We can also meet at a library near you or in your own home, with a small $10 travel fee per session since your tutor comes to you.
What if we miss a session?
Give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Eligible make-ups can be booked within 30 days, subject to tutor availability. Late cancellations count as a used session. Eligible hourly-package cancellations return the reserved hour.
How will I know it’s working?
You’ll see it in your family portal: notes from every session, practice-quiz results, a confidence rating for each topic, and your child’s school marks charted over time. Every 4 sessions you get a written progress report, and you can print a full progress & confidence report any time. See a sample.
Can my child practise between sessions?
Yes. After each session your child gets a short practice quiz on exactly what was covered, marked instantly with explanations. They can also take quizzes on any topic, earn badges and keep a weekly streak going.
Can we pause for holidays or the summer?
Yes. Request a holiday hold of up to 6 weeks from your portal and keep your weekly time. Give at least 7 days’ notice to receive credits for held sessions on your next invoice. For a longer break, contact us about stopping and restarting tutoring.
Is my child’s information private?
Yes. Your family portal is private to you. You choose whether we may use photos, record sessions or send marketing, and you can download your data or ask us to delete it at any time.
